Are wood cutting boards safe to use with meat, fruits, and vegetables?
We believe so!  We intentionally will only choose wood that are known for having "tight grain" in our cutting boards including, walnut, cherry, and hard maple.   We would not recommend cutting boards with wood types that are known for being open grain, like oak and ash.  Another tips to minimize contamination is to use Board Butter as soon as your cutting board seems dull or ashy or any time you gouge your board with a cutting implement.  It is not a big deal when this happens, just clean it  and seal it thoroughly by following the directions on the Board Butter.
